Ida Odinga, spouse to former Prime Minister has warned of fire consequences against Siaya politicians should they fail to tame the rising cases of early pregnancies in the county.

This follows reports that the county's 6 sub counties recorded 11,918 cases of teenage pregnancies in the period between June 2017 and 2018.

Addressing residents of Sigomere Ward on Sunday, Mrs Odinga blamed local leaders for failing to protect young girls from sex predators, threatening to pursue them.

"I will go to court if our leaders cannot protect girls from sex predators," she noted.

She further cautioned that the statistics have grown to an alarming point, and she will no longer take it lying down should the leaders fault to intervene.

She also noted that the blame should be heaped omndrig abuse in the county, further accusing men of carelessly impregnating young girls.

Mrs Odinga said that she will be turning her wrath on leaders should the situation not change for the better.

"If I hear any more cases of young girls being impregnated, I will sue these leaders. In huge gatherings like this one you are likely to see many young men, but not girls. This is because most of them are at home nursing babies," she added.
