On Friday, Nyamira Woman Representative Jerusha Momanyi had to spend the rest of her time at Nairobi Hospital against what she had expected.
Full of spirit and energy, Mrs Momanyi was the chief guest in the opening of Maternal kiosk that had cost Lamu Woman Representative Ruweida Obo Sh5 million.
But as fate could have it, the function went ahead without her presence, forcing the host to take the function against her plans and proceed.
"It interfered with my plans. I was headed to Lamu to oversee some development courtesy of NGAAF. But unfortunately, things went against my plans," she said in Nairobi Hospital, Sunday.
Ruweida Obo had to launch an eight-bed maternal health kiosk in Lamu’s King Fahd Hospital that will aid in reducing the high mortality rates among pregnant women in the county on Friday with locals alone.
On Sunday, Obo spend several hours at Nairobi Hospital private wing with her supposed guest who was involved in the Silverstone plane crash.
"It's sad. I kept waiting for her only to be told that she was among those involved in the plane crash. I thank God that all those on board survived," she said.
Mrs Momanyi's fate almost resembles that of her predecessor Alice Chae, who was also involved in an accident in 2016 while headed to Nyamira where she was going to host a number of MPs.
Doctors in Nairobi Hospital had stabilised her and she was expected to be released from the hospital on Sunday evening to resume her duties.
