Speaking in Mathira on Sunday, the firebrand legislator asked Ruto to tell the head of state that Kenyans would reject any attempt to impose on them a parliamentary system.

"We are sending the Deputy President to the president who you elected with many votes to tell him that Kenyans want to be left free to choose the president of the Republic of Kenya (Tunamtuma huyu Deputy President huyu aende akamwambie President wa nchi ya Kenya, mweshimiwa mliye mpenda mkamchagua kwa Kura nyingi sana, kwamba mumemwambia munataka muwachwe huru muchague raisi wa Jamhuri ya Kenya, " the Malindi member of parliament said.

Jumwa's strong words come as the nation waits with bated breath for the BBI committee to hand over its report to President Uhuru Kenyatta and ODM leader Raila Odinga.

Raila,  BBI's chief exponent, has called on Kenyans to exercise patience as they wait for the report.

Critics have charged that the report is a cynical attempt by certain leaders to expand the executive so that they can have a soft landing in case they lose the election.

BBI supporters say that it will do away with the tensions that attend elections and unite the country.

BBI is a brainchild of Uhuru and Raila, who hope that it will help chart a new path for Kenya.
