Jubilee Party Secretary-General Raphael Tuju on Wednesday held a meeting with Nairobi Jubilee Members of County Assembly (MCAs).
The consultative meeting that lasted for over four hours was aimed at addressing various issues affecting Nairobi County.
In a tweet on Wednesday, Jubilee Party revealed that Tuju came to an understanding with the MCAs concerning embattled Speaker Beatrice Elachi's return to office.
''In his capacity as SG, @RaphaelTuju_EGH has facilitated a truce within the County Assembly. Among the resolutions is that the leadership of the County Assembly will expedite Speaker Beatrice Elachi's resumption to office,'' wrote Jubilee Party.
Elachi's return to office last week was met with chaos after members of the county assembly disagreed on her reinstatement.
A section of MCAs allied to the Jubilee Party objected her return while others supported it. The division among the MCAs resulted in chaos at the county assembly.
In September 2018, Elachi was removed from office after a section of the MCAs accused her of being biased and leaning towards the ODM side.
However, in May 2019, Justice Maureen Onyango of the Employment and Labour Relations Court revoked her impeachment stating that the House had no powers to impeach her without due process.
