Kihara, a key ally of Deputy President William Ruto has vowed to take a neutral stance in her support for the document.

"As it is now, we don't know what to expect from that report. Personally, I have decided not to support any camp for now. (Jinsi ilivyo kwa sasa, hatujui cha kutarajia kutokana na ripoti hiyo. Kibinafsi, nimeamua nisiegemee upande wowote kwa sasa)," the lawmaker said, as quoted by Taifa Leo.

Jayne Kihara's sentiments come at a time MPs allied to Dr Ruto have alleged being subjected to intimidation by state institutions over their political stand, especially BBI.

The DP has been blowing hot and cold in his support for the document which is the product of the handshake between President Uhuru Kenyatta and ODM leader Raila Odinga.

With BBI consultative meetings already rolled out, with the blessings of the President and former Prime Minister, the DP has criticized such meetings, saying it is a waste of taxpayers' money.

While speaking in Machakos on Sunday, Dr Ruto renewed his onslaught on BBI consultative meetings saying that he was the subject of discussion during the recent conference in Kakamega.
