Police in Nakuru are probing an incident in which the body of a middle-aged man was on Thursday found dumped outside State House along the Nairobi-Nakuru highway.
The body, which was found near the main gate of the facility, had no physical injuries.
Preliminary reports indicate that the body was half-naked and lying face down when it was discovered in a field, which is located opposite State House, Nakuru.
The Nakuru County government has set aside the area for purposes of tree planting. Passersby thronged the area after the discovery of the body leading to traffic snarl-up. The onlookers were seen stopping and mulling over what transpired to the deceased.
A police officer, who spoke on condition of anonymity, said that the man was found with an Identity Card registered in Kakamega.
The officer said that the ID will assist the police in the manhunt for the suspected killers as they seek to unravel the mystery behind the death of the man. The scene also had shoes, which the police suspect were left behind by the killers of the man.
The body was transferred to the Nakuru County mortuary pending investigations into the death.
