Speaking to Hivisasa, some residents said that the transformer was installed before the previous general elections, and now the next elections may be conducted yet it is still non-functional.

"During 2017 campaigns many aspirants could come by and say how they had decided to help residents by initiating the project. Since 2017 nothing has been done. The transformer is here perhaps for display. We have tried talking to local leaders to help us in this but nothing had been done. The governor James Ongwae comes from the area but still, nothing is being done" Jared Ombuna said.

"What is the use of this? If they were not ready to let us use the power why would they even install it? In some areas, there is power even to non-accessible areas. But here, seems like we don't have leaders," Lydia Monari said.

"Sometimes I feel like it would be better if those stealing wires and transformers, would steal these perhaps it will awaken KPLC to give us the power," angry Richard Ondari a resident added.

They ate now calling over to KPLC to look at the matter, to help the residents who are in dire need of the power.
