A well known Gusii musician Man Pepe Sagero has alluded that the funds that the Deputy President Dr Ruto raised on Sunday at Kisii school grounds will be squandered by the ones who termed themselves as the officials who of Music from Kisii.
Speaking on Monday during an interview with Hivisasa, the annoyed musician said that there are a lot of challenges on the management of the funds that were raised by Dp Ruto who had an aim of settling a music recording studio in Kisii region to support the musically talented people.
The musician said that there is no hope for the studio to be started because the ones who term themselves as officials know nothing about being a musician.
"I actually want all my colleague musicians to know that whatever funds that were raised on Sunday by our Deputy President will be pocketed by those people who are terming themselves as officials. I was selected as one of the officials I decided to surrender because I discovered the plans that they had with the funds once they were collected was totally ironical. The majority of officials there were people who know nothing about music and they even don't know the challenges that musicians undergo. The funds will be pocketed and you will witness this," said Man Pepe Sagero.
The musician also added that it is not going to be fair when people use the title as Musicians to benefit from donations which are meant for support Musicians. He said that this will never encourage talents to of music to grow.
"If this is what we are going to be doing then God forbid, talents will never grow, if people want an assistance from people like Dr Ruto, Let them follow the right procedure and not using and sticking to a certain title so as to benefit," added Man Pepe Sagero of Bonyakoni Kirwanda Band.
