Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) Director of Communications Philip Etale has laughed off at Deputy President William Ruto's allies following their dramatic change of tune on Building Bridges Initiative (BBI) countrywide campaigns.
In a tweet on Tuesday, Etale said that he finds it hilarious when the allies of the second in command bow to pressure and decide to join other leaders during the rallies.
The Raila-allied leader questioned why the leaders decided to abandon their meeting so that they can join the BBI team in popularizing the report. The change in tactic comes after Ruto lamented that the opposition was using the rallies to insult him. Showdown is not expected after the surprise decision from the TangaTanga camp.
"I find it ridiculous when Tangatanga adherents and their ‘horny’bills declare that they will start attending #BBI rallies. I then ask myself, what happened to the series of rallies including Inua nguo meetings they had started. Are they running out of gas?' he tweeted.
Etale went ahead to welcome the allies of Kalenjin political kingpin to join in rooting for BBI.
"As a TRUE supporter of the journey to uniting Kenya and ridding Kenya of computer generated leaders and subversion of the will of the people, I welcome the decision by the Tangatanga wing of Jubilee to abandon unnecessary public rallies, harambees and public noise-making to join the Kenyan patriots in the push for the #BBI, " said Etale.
The ODM communication guru said that it is a waste of time for leaders to transverse the country campaigning against the report when we want to preach peace. He noted that the country is facing endless challenges and uniting is the only way we can resolve the same at the end of the day.
He added: "It is worth noting that Kenya doesn’t need noisemakers and busybodies at the time when the energy should be spend on uniting the country and finding solutions to the many problems they are faced with including how the country can get back money stolen by some powerful individuals, fixing the IEBC to stop losers from being declared winners and strengthening devolution. Sen. Onesimus Kipchumba Murkomen, that is a brilliant idea, "he said.
