The Marathon World Record holder and Olympic champion has etched his name into athletics books by conquering the INEOS 1:59 Challenge in Vienna, Austria.

Kipchoge had a personal goal going into the historic event. He was out to prove the great potential that human beings possess.

“To run a marathon in under two hours and to show to the world that when you focus on your goal, when you work hard and when you believe in yourself, anything is possible,” said Kipchoge.

“To run in Berlin and Vienna are two different things. Berlin is running and breaking a world record. Vienna is running and making history. Just like the first man to go to the moon,” he said during an interview on Friday as quoted by the Standard.

Indeed, Eliud Kipchoge proved that there are no limits to what a human being can achieve.

The event was sponsored by Sir James Arthur Ratcliffe, chairman and CEO of chemical manufacturer Ineos Group.
