In a typically barbed tweet, the Canadian based lawyer lashed out at the media for not shining a spotlight on the attack which has been trending for hours on social media platforms.

He urged the media outlets to report the events as they unfold in Kasarani and also capture the alleged human rights abuses being perpetrated by the law enforcement officers.

"None of the so-called mainstream TV stations has reported on the brutal assault on innocent civilians in Kasarani today. @citizentvkenya, @ntvkenya, @KTNV and @K24Tv must get out of Uhuru Kenyatta's despotic bed and report news and the violence being unleashed on Kenyans, " Miguna MIguna wrote on Twitter.

Residents of Kasarani have been protesting the poor state of the constituency's roads in a bid to force the government to intervene and have the roads repaired.

Social media users shared pictures and videos claiming that the General Service Unit (GSU) officers, who were deployed to quell the protests, were beating up residents innocently going about their business.

On Monday, residents were forced to walk to Thika Road as Matatus plying the Mwiki route were on a go-slow over the poor state of the roads.
