In a series of tweets on Thursday, Kipkorir said that lawyers cannot serve two masters at the same time.

He made the remarks after President Uhuru Kenyatta told off senators and MPs representing governors in graft cases.

“Systemic Corruption is the one thing that is holding Kenya down. Lawyers must take a stand. First, all Lawyers who are MPs/Senators must resign from their law firms & take a break from practice. Courts must enforce this suo moto,” he tweeted.

Senators Kipchumba Murkomen and Mutula Kilonzo Junior have been on spot for representing Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko in a graft case.

Kipkorir has also asked the court to revise the bail terms of suspects. He said that cases such as corruption, rape, and murder should attract bail of over half of money stollen for graft cases.

“Courts must also revise Bail Terms. In the US, bail terms for any type of Corruption, Murder or Rape is over us$2m. Bail should be 50% of the sums stolen & the Accused given electronic tags. It’s only in making Corruption punitive that it will end. For now, it’s affordable,” he tweeted.
