In a tweet, the veteran opposition and ODM supremo said that he had a lively engagement with members of the community.

He expressed his gratitude to them for showing up for the meeting.

"Had a refreshing and lively engagement with our brothers and sisters who hail from Ukambani. I thank them for the very frank and open discussions regarding the course of our nation, " the ODM leader said.

Raila has been meeting members of different communities living in Kibra constituency to convince them to back the parliamentary bid of Imran Okoth.

This appears to be a change of tactic away from the diverse rallies that he has been used to.

Political pundits say that the tactic is aimed at dispelling the notion that Mr Odinga is just a Luo leader and also placate the concerns of communities fearing that their interests will take a back seat should Imran Okoth win the Kibra by-election.

The Kibra by-election is slated for 7, November when the residents will decide who will be their member of parliament.

The seat was declared vacant after the death of late former member of parliament Ken Okoth who succumbed to cancer.
