Atwoli speaking on Wednesday during an interview on Jeff Koinange Live show aired on Citizen TV, said that Kiambu electorate have come to realise that they were 'duped into dumping' former Governor, William Kabogo.

"I can tell you for free that Waititu won't get a second term in Kiambu. Kiambu residents are now wiser and know that their current governor is very irrelevant," Atwoli said.

The fiery trade unionist noted that Waititu is a 'big let down' to President Uhuru Kenyatta in the ongoing war against corruption.

"Being a Governor from the president's home turf, Waititu ought to be the last to contradict him. Saying that rivers should be diverted to spare buildings constructed on riparian land and then his wife is arrested the following day for the same, just tells you what kind of a person the Governor is," he added.

Commenting on a leaked audio where Waititu is heard begging Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko to intervene to have his wife released, Atwoli said that Waititu is a very 'clueless guy'.

He, at the same time, lauded Sonko saying he will easily be elected for a second time as "he knows to adapt and move with times".

Atwoli further described Sonko as a smart politician who is liked by people.
