On Monday, Wetangula said that NASA was dead and his party was no longer interested in continuing being part of the coalition.

According to ANC leader Musalia Mudavadi,  the meeting will also be used to resolve some of the issues that have been raised by the coalition partners.

Speaking in Kakamega on Wednesday, Mudavadi clarified no party had officially left the NASA coalition despite the announcement by Wetangula.

“In order to exit the coalition, all the affiliate parties must write official letters indicating their withdrawal. As things stand today, I am not aware of any party that has written to the Registrar of Political Parties saying they have left NASA,” Mudavadi said.

Wetangula has accused Raila of betrayal after the March 9 handshake. According to the Ford-Kenya leader Raila acted in a selfish manner when he met with President Uhuru Kenyatta on March 9.
