According to Itumbi, it was not logical that the police could not secure the meeting which was to take place on the same day that another mega rally was to happen at Bukhungu stadium in Kakamega town.

In a statement shared on Twitter, Itumbi went ahead to cite the distance between the two venues of the meetings and compared it to other allies that took place in Kibra.

Itumbi who is a supporter of Deputy President William Ruto alleged that the cancellation of the rally that was to be presided over by Amani National Congress (ANC) party leader was political.

"So @NPSOfficial_KE want us to believe that they cannot secure two meetings 30KM apart in Kakamega County. In Kibra just the other day, we had 4 big meetings 2km away from each other & security was provided. Politics #HarambeeHousePrefects style!," Itumbi stated.

A section of the leaders spearheaded by Kimilili Member of Parliament Didmus Barasa has however vowed to continue with the meeting despite the order from the police.
