Mr McCarter has been seen to take a strong stand against graft and even criticised Kenyan leaders for presiding over graft during the prayer breakfast earlier in the year.

Speaking on Tuesday, Jakoyo said he is pleased with McCarter's stand, adding that he would vote for US President Donald Trump if this is what his government stands for.

This, he said, would come despite the fact that he doesn't like Trump.

"We are in a mess, I don’t like Donald Trump, but for this [U.S. envoy’s tough stance on corruption] I would vote for him," he said on NTV, Tuesday morning.

He also decried the latest happenings in the nation such as increased reckless borrowing which has resulted in trillions in pending debts.

The former National Assembly minority whip accused the Jubilee leadership of playing with Kenyans' lives, shortly after Parliament allowed the government to increase its loan limit.

"The country is messy; we have no direction, no proper economic policy, we are over-borrowing, and when we are challenged about the country's debt ceiling, we increase it. We are playing with people's lives," he added.
