Political analyst Herman Manyora now wants Deputy President William Ruto to approach his 2022 presidential ambitions calmly.
Speaking on Saturday in his weekly YouTube show, the commentator observed that so forceful is the DP in his bid that his candidature is becoming questionable.
He observed that Ruto is making it seem like he must be president, which he said should not be the case, though he has every right to lead.
He reminded the DP that his presidency is not a must and he should not make it to be seen as so.
"William Samoei Ruto, I know you want to be president of the Republic of Kenya. Perfectly well it's your right and you deserve it. But is the presidency a matter of life and death? Must you be president of the country? You won't even be the first; It's not something worth dying for," he said.
He wondered why the DP seems so attracted to the position, which according to him, should not arise.
Manyora observed that the fact that the nation is still grappling with extreme poverty and debt is enough reason for Ruto to calm down.
"Being the president of a poor and third world country like Kenya is not that important," he added.
The remarks come at a time when Ruto has been seen crisscrossing the nation in what his critics claim are indirect campaigns for his pending candidature.
He has also managed to poach politicians from the opposition bloc to solidify his base. His allies have also continued engaging in active politicking despite warnings from President Uhuru Kenyatta.
