City lawyer Donald Kipkorir has urged the Kenya Civil Aviation Authority to suspend Silverstone Air until it concludes an investigation against the airline.
In a tweet on Monday, Kipkorir argued that though Silverstone is a local company, it should adhere to the set standards and guarantee safety of passengers.
"Defending Silverstone that it belongs to Kenyans, It's a big investment, it employs thousands and that such accidents are normal is beyond the pale and lazy thinking. But for us who stand for what is right Silverstone must be suspended till KCAA concludes it's report," he said.
On Monday, an aircraft from the company was forced to make an emergency landing at Moi International Airport in Eldoret after one of its wheels fell off during a flight to Nairobi from Lodwar.
"Argument that we are grateful the pilot of Silverstone steered the plane to safety shows how low we have sunk. It is not normal for planes to have their tires fall off. It is not normal for planes to miss runaway. Kenyans shouldn’t normalize mediocrity and ineptitude," he said.
The airline has been subject of debate for the past few weeks over status of its planes.
