According to Tala Member of County Assembly Alex Kamitu, the two have been frustrating Mutua by accusing him of graft yet they don't have evidence.

Kamitu who spoke on Wednesday said that Muthama and Kabaka are eyeing the gubernatorial seat in 2022 and for that reason, they are trying to gain mileage by smearing the name of the current county boss

"If there is someone wishing to contest for governorship in 2022, he/she should stop the propaganda and trying to create a bad picture for Mutua by accusing him of corruption yet he was acquited," said the MCA.

"They should give our governor ample time to serve his people instead of engaging in petty politics," he added.

The Ward Representative claimed that what's bothering the two politicians is the fact that Mutua has gone public about his interest in the presidential seat come 2022 and they are trying to discredit him in the eyes of Kenyans.

He, however, urged residents to turn a blind ear to politicians taking advantage of funeral and church services to talk ill about other leaders.

Kamitu addressed journalists outside the assembly premises.

On Tuesday Governor Mutua said he is ready to be arrested if he is found guilty of graft.

Muthama and Senator Kabaka have been calling for the arrest of the governor over graft. At one point Muthama even claimed he had a truck full of evidence against the governor.
