NASA leader Raila Odinga has insisted that Interior Cabinet Secretary Dr Fred Matiang'i is in government to stay.
Raila termed claims that Matiang'i will be impeached as invalid dreams.
"It is important for Kenyans to be told the truth. Impeaching Matiang'i is a joke because he has nothing to do with the fake gold scam," said Raila.
The former Prime Minister said Matiang'i should not be shaken by the cheap threats by a section of politicians who have called for his removal from office.
"Some people think they will use their greediness and jealousy to impeach Matiang'i. We can't allow anyone touch Matiang'i due to the good work he is doing for Kenyans. The impeachment threats should not give Matiang'i sleepless nights," he stated.
Raila who doubles up as Orange Democratic Movement party leader warned politicians against politicising the fake gold scam saying any politician found engaging in dubious dealings including those in ODM party must be ready to carry their own cross.
He further argued that war on corruption must continue no matter what for the sake of ensuring public funds are being used prudently.
Raila was speaking on Friday when he joined Gusii leaders in condoling with the family of the late Dr David Gilbert Ombati in Isecha village Kitutu Chache North.
