Nyandarua Governor Francis Kimemia has cracked whip on the members of the executive over poor performance.

The first term county boss has sacked four of the CECs in the latest development as he seeks to streamline service delivery. 

The sacking came minutes after the after they held a meeting at the county headquarters in Ol Kalou township. 

The affected officials are Muthoni Wamuiya (trade and cooperatives), Kariuki Mbataru (ICT and Public administration), Faith Mbugua (education and social services) and Simon Ng’ang’a of water, tourism and natural resources. 

Mbataru has been put on the sport over gross misconduct and was facing impeachment from the county assembly. 

Before he was sent packing, Mbataru had obtained an order from the court barring his impeachment. 

In a statement released to the media houses on Wednesday, Kimemia said that he will not tolerate underperformance as long as he remains in office for the sake of his people.

“As the two-year contract term for my county executive committee members nears completion, and as we begin the new financial year July 2019 to June 2020, it has become necessary to reinvigorate my transformation agenda through injection of new strategic competences for optical performance and accountability to the citizenry,” the statement read. 

The governor replaced the officers moments after their sacking.

He named Raphael Njui as a replacement for Ms Wamuiya, Charles Ndungu Wachira who contested for the Ndaragwa parliamentary aspirant in 2017 assumed the water docket and the ICT docket was taken over by Ms Ann Gathigia.

The education and social services docket will be taken over by Mr Stephen Mwaura Lands CEC Lawrence Mukundi will act as CEC water and Finance CEC Mary Mugwanja will act in the ICT department pending presentation of the names to the county assembly. 

James Karitu (agriculture)  has been named acting CEC industrialization department and Dominic Murani, CEC in charge of Youth and sports, has been named to act in the department of education.
