Pressure continues to mount on Cabinet Secretary without portfolio Raphael Tuju to quit the ruling party as Secretary General even as the former Rarieda MP remained unmoved.
At a fundraiser in Vihiga on Sunday, Khalwale accused Tuju of being Raila Odinga's secret face in Jubilee administration, arguing that his days are numbered.
Mr Khalwale's sentiments came hours after a local daily claimed that Tuju has been recruited by Raila as one of the inner circle team member ahead of 2022 polls.
"To be President, you must be in a national party. That's why Ruto folded URP and asked Uhuru to fold TNA to form Jubilee so that he can get a chance to lead this country.
"There is a conman, a very Junior man who served with me in Parliament but was not reelected. The man is called Tuju. The other day he said I am not welcome in Jubilee. Who was he to receive me when I was received by DP Ruto? He's just Raila's destructive face in Jubilee," claimed Khalwale.
On Sunday, Deputy President William Ruto had also accused Mr Tuju of sabotage, adding that he was closely working with opposition leader Raila Odinga.
“So our democracy is so liberal that the SG of a ruling party has become the chief strategist of the opposition!! Maajabu (Wonders!!),” the DP wrote.
But at Migori on Sunday, ODM Secretary General Edwin Sifuna dismissed the allegations, adding that the party has enough advisors who comes up with internal strategies.
“We are currently in the process of restoring sanity in our party and the claims that are being propagated are ill-advised,” he said.
He added: “Tuju has never been Raila’s advisor and we are worried about this new scheme by a section of Jubilee leaders to divide ODM.”
