The Ford Kenya party leader sent a strong message to National Assembly majority leader Aden Duale and his Senate counterpart Kipchumba Murkomen.

While speaking in a Senate proceeding to defend the Commission on Revenue Authority (CRA), Wetangula said it was the only qualified body to allocate funds to counties. Wetangula reminded the two house majority leaders that Kenya belongs to the people of Kenya.

"I want to tell those who are trying to bastardize the CRA, that, woe unto them because they are what you would call total ignoramus people who have lost direction, taken leave of their senses and madam speaker they are behaving as if this country belongs to them.

This country belongs to the country of Kenya, it does not belong to the leader of the majority in the Senate, it does not belong to the leader of the majority in the National Assembly, it belongs to the people of Kenya, and we swore to defend, uphold the constitution of the Republic of Kenya, that is what we did this morning," he ranted

On Thursday, Senators marched to the High Court seeking to revoke 23 bills passed by the National Assembly without their involvement.
