Speaking on Tuesday, he said that his office is investigating rogue businessmen who are allegedly repackaging expired foodstuff and seeking it to unsuspecting Kenyans.

He said that most of the alleged bad product is being brought from foreign countries within East Africa, noting that his officers have embarked on pursuing the cartels.

“You will find that what has expired in one country, finds itself in another country and it is repackage as a new product. They are crossing into our border from Somalia, South Sudan, Uganda, and then they find their way to be consumed by our people," he is quoted by the People Daily.

He said that though the expired products are to blame for the thriving of cancer in the country, the Judiciary has not been doing enough to have the perpetrators dealt with.

"We have been having a lot of challenges in terms of ailments like cancer here in Kenya. We have to ask ourselves, why are they increasing so rapidly?" he added.

The former spy spoke during the launch of the Networks of Heads if Public Prosecutions and Criminal Investigations in the East African Region in Nairobi.

He accused the courts of releasing goods and foods expired for over four years, which were allegedly repackaged and sold to Kenyans.
