For months now, Ruto's allies have accused State House of allegedly plotting his downfall ahead of 2022 polls.

And in an interview on Wednesday, Bosire, a former Kitutu Masaba MP, said the DP will not win if he continues to attack the former Prime Minister.

"Raila Odinga remains an important figure in Kenyan politics. It is difficult to write him off given his political clout.

"The only way Ruto can be president is by working with him. If that doesn't happen, then he should forget his ambitions for now," he said.

During Tuesday's interview with Citizen TV, Raila refused to wade into 2022 succession politics, insisting that he is only interested in the country's reconciliation.

At a burial function in Kipkelion early this year, Raila insisted that Ruto needs him to make his presidential ambitions real.
