Kamanda was compelled to hand over the microphone to Kirinyaga Woman Representative, Wangui Ngirici after the residents booed him during an event at Gathuthuini Secondary School in Kagio.

Kamanda kept on hailing President Uhuru Kenyatta and ODM leader Raila Odinga for the success of BBI report release. The remarks of the lawmaker did not augur well with some of the residents and leaders.

Pro-Ruto chants filled the air as leaders attempted to calm them down so that the event could continue as planned.

During the event, Interior Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiang’i dismissed claims that he has been working with his Principal Secretary Karanja Kibicho to frustrate DP William Ruto.

“I take full responsibility for any action by the security team, never touch my PS, don’t blame him for any political problem within and without Government. Kenya has only one president – Uhuru Kenyatta – who we receive instructions from. Any action taken by the security personnel is as a result of a presidential directive,” said Matiang’i

The event was attended by more than 30 leaders from various parts of the nation.

Some of the leaders were COTU boss Francis Atwoli, Governors: Francis Kimemia (Nyandarua), Muthomi Njuki (Tharaka-Nithi), John Nyagarama (Nyamira), Ali Hassan Joho (Mombasa), Anne Waiguru (Kirinyaga), Mutahi Kahiga (Nyeri),  Joseph Ole Lenku (Kajiado), MPs Junet Mohamed (Suna East), Munene Wambugu (Kirinyaga Central), Moses Kuria (Gatundu South) Kabinga Wathayu (Mwea), Gichimu Githinji (Gichugu).

Others are Woman Representatives Gathoni Wamuchomba (Kiambu), Gladys Wanga (Homa Bay) and Fatuma Gedi (Wajir).
