South Mugirango MP Sylvanus Osoro has maintained that he will not throw his support behind Interior Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiang'i ahead of the 2022 general elections.
Speaking in Etago on Saturday, the youthful lawmaker said those pushing Matiang'i to run for the presidency have not convinced him.
"I'm not convinced enough to support Matiang'i to run for the presidency. I will not stop supporting whoever I want to be president in 2022 because I'm enjoying my constitutional right," he said.
Osoro said his political stand does not make him an enemy to the Gusii community and called upon politicians opposed to his association with Deputy President William Ruto to mind their own businesses.
According to the MP, he will deliver South Mugirango votes for DP Ruto in 2022.
"I appeal to residents of South Mugirango to open eyes and rally behind DP Ruto since CS Matiang'i's team has minimal chances of winning the presidency," he noted while assuring his commitment to ensuring accelerated development in the constituency before 2022 polls.
Osoro also challenged his rivals to stop using his association with DP Ruto to propagate falsehood arguing that Tangatanga movement is intact and focused to send DP Ruto to State House.
