Former Machakos Senator Johnson Muthama has said that the Building Bridges Initiative Report (BBI) is not only ill-timed but also ill-driven.
Speaking exclusively to Capital FM at his Muthaiga office on Thursday, Muthama said that the report has now divided the nation into different factions.
The vocal politician lamented that President Uhuru Kenyatta and ODM leader Raila Odinga came together to unite the country but this is not the case.
He said that factions such as TangaTanga and Kieleweka are a clear indication that BBI has caused more harm than good. He said that the report is now all about creation of positions for a few individuals in government, which should not be the case at all.
“Before BBI the country was divided into two groups, National Super Alliance (NASA) and Jubilee. After the BBI was born, Jubilee is divided into two and NASA is divided into four. So, anybody who is saying that BBI is there to unite Kenyans is not telling the truth,” he said.
Muthama also said that the government should use the funds meant to popularise the report across the country to address more critical issues.
He argued that report will not resolve issues facing Kenyans even if it is implemented to the latter.
