Machakos Governor Dr Alfred Mutua has disclosed that he will convene an urgent meeting seeking to chart the way forward for the community.
Addressing journalists in Machakos on Thursday Mutua rubbished Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka and former senator Johnson Muthama's efforts in the political arena.
Mutua intimated that the two leaders were misleading the Kamba community for their own selfish gains.
"I promise to convene urgent leaders meeting to chart the way forward for the Kamba nation. Our people have suffered for long and we need to see a real tribal euphoria. Wananchi wetu wamechoka kuenjoiwa lazima twende state house," said Mutua.
He said that the community has had leaders who have held big positions in the government but delivered nothing to their people leaving them to wallow in poverty.
He said that he is the only leader ready to lead the Kamba without vested interest.
The MCCP leader said that if indeed a unity meeting was to be held then neutral and respected leaders from the region should be involved.
"As Maendeleo ChapChap we want a real, not fake unity meeting. These meetings should be convened by neutral leaders and elders. We are ready for such well-meaning meetings to discuss the plight of our people in a respectful and organized manner," he said.
He urged Kalonzo and Muthama to retire from active politics before they water down their political achievements.
"Kuweni wajanja, retire from politics while your political career is at the peak. Don't wait until you fail then you retire. Many leaders who are respected quit while they were up there in their careers," he said.
