Deputy President William Ruto has insisted that his relationship with Jubilee Party Secretary-General Raphael Tuju is intact.
Speaking during an interview with NTV on Thursday at his Karen home in Nairobi, Ruto said that he has no bad blood with Tuju after claims that they were no longer in good terms.
The second in command said that they had an issue but Tuju came forth and set the record straight, adding that Jubilee is working for a better nation.
"I think Tuju has said it himself. I am the deputy party leader. Tuju is the party Secretary-General and there are no issues," he said.
On July 15 2019, Ruto expressed discontentment over the manner in which Tuju was conducting himself. The allies of the DP demanded the resignation of Tuju. Ruto claimed that Tuju has now decided to concentrate on matters of other parties at the expense of his. He questioned the close relationship between Tuju and allies of ODM leader Raila Amolo Odinga.
“So our democracy is so liberal that the SG of a ruling party has become the chief strategist of the opposition!! Maajabu (Wonders!!),” the DP said.
Tuju has also said in the past that everything is alright between them.
Ruto has since been launching attack after attack following the handshake.
