Speaking in Sengera Bosoti ward, Bomachoge Chache Constituency, Kisii County, the DG said political leaders should not be restricted on who they should work with.

"I am still a life member of the ODM party despite the fact that I work with politicians from the ruling Jubilee Party. I want to challenge local politicians to work closely for the sake of pushing for development in Kisii," said Maangi on Friday.

He pointed out that his close association with Deputy President William Ruto should not make people say he is no longer an ODM member.

Maangi who is expected to run for the Kisii county gubernatorial seat in 2022 challenged aspiring politicians to shun politics based on hatred and tribe.

"As leaders, we should move away from divisive politics and ensure we are engaging in mature politics which will benefit our people. Leaders irrespective of their political parties should work together," noted the DG who also challenged Kisii residents not to listen to politicians whose intention is to ascend to power to enrich themselves.
