Kuresoi North Deputy County Commissioner (DCC) Felix Watakila said measures have been put in place to ensure exam materials reach schools on time.

Watakila said two buses transporting examination papers on Tuesday were stuck in Kuresoi Sub County, Nakuru after heavy rains rendered most roads impassable.

He however said they were able to get the two vehicles out of the mud and examinations arrived at the schools on time to ensure the candidates sit for the first paper on Tuesday morning.

Watakila who lauded local residents said the area residents used tractors to pull out the buses which ensured the vehicles arrived to their destinations on time.

Kenyanews.go.ke reports that Watakila said they have set aside extra resources, which include standby vehicles, to ensure the examination papers get to their destination safely and on time.

“Incase the situation persist, there are standby vehicles to help in the smooth administration of the national examinations,” he said.

Watakila warned candidates who will be caught cheating or taking short-cuts to pass exams saying they risk being arrested and prosecuted.

Nakuru County Commissioner (CC) Erastus Mbui said four-wheel-drive vehicles and even boda bodas will be used to transport examination materials to areas that will be rendered impassable.
