Deputy President William Ruto on Monday joined the First Family at State House where they jointly hosted South Sudan President Salva Kiir for dinner.
The meeting comes amid ongoing wrangles in Jubilee party that saw Deputy President William Ruto accuse four Mt Kenya ministers of allegedly planning to eliminate him.
"President Uhuru Kenyatta and First Lady Margaret Kenyatta this evening hosted a State Banquet in honour of the President of the Republic of South Sudan H.E. Salva Kiir Mayardit. President Kiir is in the country for a 2-day State Visit | @WilliamsRuto @RailaOdinga," State House wrote.
Sleuths have intensified crackdown to establish the people behind the alleged fake assassination letter which has since brought confusions within Cabinet.
Already, two communication officials from DP Ruto's office are being sought over the claims. The cabinet still remains divided over the matter and it was the first time Ruto met Uhuru ever since the claims were made public.
Earlier, Uhuru had awarded South Sudan with 10 acres of land in Naivasha. The land will host a dry inland depot for the Juba administration.
“To further ease the movement of goods consigned to South Sudan, the Kenya Government has set aside 10 acres of land at the Inland Container Depot in Naivasha Industrial Park, for use as a dry port by the Government of South Sudan,” said President Uhuru when he addressed a joint press conference with President Salva Kiir.
