The issue of Mau eviction is politically instigated, Deputy President William Ruto’s allies have claimed.

 The allies of the second in command now claimes that ODM leader Raila Amolo Odinga wants to take advantage of the Mau eviction to create animosity between different groups to spark hatred among different groups to ensure Ruto is weaker. 

In separate interviews with Daily Nation, the leaders insisted that they will not allow the same process to leave Kenyans frustrated.

 Led by Nandi Senator Samson Cherargei, the leaders said that the whole story has been orchestrated with the aim of ensuring Ruto doesn’t succeed President Uhuru Kenyatta. 

The senator said that they started with lifestyle audit now they have embarked on the issue of Mau eviction to make Ruto appear ineligible for election into the top office in the country. He divulged that the issue is no longer about tribes or regions anymore. 

He also said that Raila’s allies have been rooting for a referendum because they are afraid of Ruto becoming very powerful

“The evictions are a targeted campaign against the Deputy President to prevent him from becoming the president in 2022,” he said, as quoted by Daily Nation. 

Konoin MP Mr Brighton Yegon and his counterpart Emurua Dikirr Johana Ng’eno backed the stand of the lawmaker on the matter. Yegon said that the writing is on the wall and they will not assume all is well.

 He also said that the move is geared towards making the region politically hostile for the DP.The remarks came at a time when Bomet Governor Hillary Barchok and nominated Jubilee MP David Sankok are fighting for their reconciliation. More than 6000 persons risk eviction from the forest land.
