Kibra MP Ken Okoth was on Thursday night rushed to Nairobi Hospital after his condition reportedly worsened, it has been confirmed.
Mr Okoth, who is serving his second term under ODM ticket, has been admitted at ICU as doctors monitor his condition closely.
After over eight months treatment in Germany, Okoth returned home almost two weeks ago. He attended Kibra festivals in Nairobi, his first public appearance in as many months.
Early this year, Okoth revealed to Kenyans that he was suffering from cancer, confession which shocked many Kenyans, most who cherish his leadership style.
Last week, State House wished Mr Okoth quick recovery, with Kanze Dena saying that he was a living courageous Kenyan due to his battle against cancer.
“Allow me to mention a great son of Kenya, the Member of Parliament for Kibra Constituency Mheshimiwa Ken Okoth who has recently returned to the country after months of treatment in France,” read a statement issued by Spokesperson Kanze Dena.
In April, there were claims that he had passed on in Germany, only for him to take personally to his Twitter handle to dispell the rumours.
“I'm alive and kicking. Folks should stop killing me before my time with rumours,” he said.
In 2017, Okoth was facing a tough competition from Raila Odinga's daughter, Rosemary Odinga, who later on withdrew after suffering from blindness.
