Repentance and Holiness Ministry leader Prophet David Owuor landed in Kisumu on Friday ahead of a two-day mega meeting in the Lakeside City.
Owuor arrived at the Kisumu International Airport (KIA) aboard a Kenya Airways plane for the meeting, set to be held at the Jomo Kenyatta Sports Ground on Saturday and Sunday.
A section of residents of Kisumu expressed their delight following Owuor’s arrival, promising to remain rooted at the Sports ground for the two days.
“I have seen him all over on television but I have never met him one-on-one. This is my chance to meet him,” said Alex Otieno, a bodaboda rider.
“I know many people will attend his meeting at the Sports ground. I think it is a good time for hawkers to sell their wares because many people have travelled from various places in the country,” said Alice Anyango, a water vendor.
“My Repentance and Holiness faithful in Homabay has called and informed me that he is coming to Kisumu for two days because ‘Prophet’ Owuor is in town. I will find some time and go to the Sports ground for me to see what will be happening,” said another resident who requested to remain anonymous.
The last time he held a meeting in Kisumu was in 2016. His meetings draw huge crowds of people and he was the subject of debate last year over the heavy security detail he enjoys from the State.
