The Kenya Premier League might reportedly be forced to postpone Saturday's league fixture pitting Gor Mahia against Kisumu All Stars, following the call up of key Kogalo players for international duty.
Kogalo have more than three players who have received international call ups.
Gor Mahia captain Kenneth Muguna, Joash Onyango, Lawrence Owino, and Clifton Miheso have been called up by the Kenyan national team.
The players will take part in the Cecafa Senior Challenge Cup tournament in Uganda on December 7.
Speaking to Goal, Gor Mahia CEO Omondi Aduda said when more than three players have been called for international duty, the team cannot play in the local league.
“The rules state very clear if you have more than three players in the national team then you cannot play in a league match.
“As we speak, we have four players with Harambee Stars and what we are waiting for is the final squad to know how many will go with the team to Kampala. If they go the four of them, then we will have to call off the match against Kisumu All-Stars, those are the rules," he said.
Muguna and Onyango have since established themselves as first choice starters in the Kogalo lineup.
