They say family are those who stand by you in your best and worst moments.
Jacque Maribe's father has won the hearts of Kenyans after he was filmed making fun with her daughter in a situation where she would be crying.
When everybody seemed to have deserted her, the father has always been there giving her hugs and making her smile.
University students from Eldoret were touched by the magnitude of the father's love with many saying they have never actually had such a strong bond with their fathers.
Mariam Nekesa, a second-year student at the University of Eldoret says she would give anything to experience such kind of love from her father.
"I have never been close to my father. There is always tension between us and our interactions are mostly official. Seeing that video and the strong support that Maribe's father had for his daughter really moved me. Some of us wish we had even half of it," Nekesa spoke emotionally.
Benson Kiptanui, on the other hand, believes it is the worst situations that prove who your true family is. And Maribe's father had indeed proven that he was a true family.
"Most people including those who claim to be friends will always abandon you in your worst situation. Look at Jacque Maribe, where are her friends now? So the father's presence and protection are really moving," Kiptanui noted.
Caren Juma who was disowned by her father after she got pregnant would wish for her father to learn something from Maribe's father.
"I remember how my dad disowned me because I was pregnant while the first year. He never wanted anything to do with me. If there is anything I would wish right now is for him to learn something from Maribe's father," Juma said.
It is evident that strong love will always touch and melt people's hearts. He may not know it, but Jacque Maribe's father touched the hearts of many with his magnitude of love for the daughter.
