Belgut MP Nelson Koech has dismissed alleged plot to impeach Deputy President William Ruto, arguing that it's impossible.
There were claims that some MPs allied to President Uhuru Kenyatta and ODM leader Raila Odinga are plotting an impeachment against Ruto.
According to reports, the MPs will be meeting in Laikipia this week to prepare on the possible impeachment of Ruto.
But the Belgut MP, defending Mr Ruto, said the plot appears far-fetched, misinformed, “impossible and a pipe dream”.“
"I dare them because I can assure you it will not be easy. This is a pipe dream that is good for politics but not reality. Let them bring it on,” Mr Koech, a strong ally of the DP, said, as quoted by Nation.
The Jubilee MP insisted that Ruto is not the former Kiambu Governor Ferdinand Waititu, who was recently kicked out by the Senate.
Waititu, a close ally of Dr Ruto, failed to mobilise the Senate in his favour, leading to his replacement by Dr James Nyoro.
“They can’t get the numbers because William Ruto is not Ferdinand Waititu,” said Mr Koech. “It’s impossible.”
Jubilee party has been embroiled in internal wrangles, even though Dr Ruto has often accused ODM leader Raila Odinga of engineering the troubles.
