More details about how embattled former Nissan boss Carlos Ghosn was able to make a daring escape from Japan have emerged.

A company which owns the jet that flew the titan of the global car industry to Lebanon has finally spoken out, saying that it was duped into hiring out the aircraft Sky News has reported.

According to MNG Jet, it leased two jets which it had been made to believe would be used by two separate clients.

The company said that it had filed a complained with Turkish authorities so that those involved in the scheme are brought to justice.

“One employee of the company, who is under investigation by the authorities, has admitted having falsified the records,” the company said as quoted by the Guardian newspaper.

“He confirmed that he acted in his individual capacity, without the knowledge or the authorisation of the management of MNG Jet. MNG Jet is proactively cooperating with the authorities and hopes that the people who illegally used and/or facilitated the use of the services of the company will be duly prosecuted, " the company added.

Questions about how Ghosn was able to elude Japanese security authorities yet he was said to be under surveillance continue to be asked, the New York Times reported.
