Nominated Senator Millicent Omanga has taken a swipe at governors who proposed the creation of regional governments while at BBI rally in Mombasa.
In a post in her official Facebook page on Saturday, Omanga expressed concern over unemployed youth who were jubilantly praising the second term county bosses who took turns in giving their remarks and proposing the creation of regional governments to sustain their dwindling political relevance.
The Jubilee lawmaker wondered whether the governors would have thought of quitting politics and relinquishing their seats to the younger generation when their terms end.
"It’s a pity that the jobless youths were cheering and clapping when the second term governors who have fleeced county resources are proposing for regional governments so that they get a soft landing. When will these leaders say it’s time to retire and give space for our youths to take up leadership?" Wondered Omanga.
