The Kericho-born artist had demanded that the three-time 1,500 metres World Champion apologise within three days or face legal action for what he termed as the misuse of his song.

"It was unfortunate that my song was used in the videotape. I ask Asbel to apologise within three days, failure to which I will take appropriate actions against him," said Kipkirui in a two-minute video he recorded in the Kalenjin dialect.

Below are some of the reactions from Facebook users after the artist made the demand.

Kering Jeruu - "Huyu anataka pesa ya Kiprop aaje ujinga. Hapa sasa tunasimama na Asbel usifikirie amekuwa kifagio kila kitu anawekewa."

Nyiganet Ab Taban - "This idiot was popularised and instead of thanking Asbel he is giving us stupid pressers here...Even you should ask for forgiveness for ME KNOWING YOU. I DID NOT WANT TO KNOW YOU...Nkt."

Cheruiyot Monicah - "You expected the song ichezwe kanisani ama, cause that is where secular songs belong."

Eve Chimpaye - "Why cant he stop all the club's not to use 'their' songs..is he even aware that whatever happens in the clubs is even worse compared to what Asbel did?"

Betty Chemtai - "He's ignorant. He's a shame to the Rhinoceros fraternity. In fact, he should apologise to all Rhinos in Kenya for letting them down."
