Rivatex East Africa made donations to the people affected by landslides in West Pokot County.
According to the Managing Director Prof Thomas Kipkurgat, he called on other wellwishers to help the victims.
Rivatex donated lessos, bedsheets and other types of fabric.
“We have made the donations bearing in mind that the most affected are women and children and they deserve our attention. The fabric will assist them from the cold even as heavy rains continue to be witnessed in most parts of the country,” he said.
Prof Kipkurgat spoke after handing over the donations to West Pokot Woman Representative Lilian Tomitom at Rivatex offices on Wednesday.
"I want to call on other well-wishers to extend their hand of giving by donating anything small they have since the West Pokot residents are living in deplorable conditions," added the Rivatex East Africa Managing Director.
He called for more funding towards disaster preparedness in the country.
On her part, Tomitom lauded Rivatex for the donation saying it will assist the victims who require urgent care noting that their cry is for women and children who are currently in the cold.
She called on Kenyans to continue helping out the affected families.
The landslide claimed over 50 lives and displaced hundreds in West Pokot.
