In a post on Twitter, Wednesday, Ogolla who is also a social and political commentator contended that Kibet was not in a position to harm President Uhuru Kenyatta.

According to the top lawyer, the student in attempting to scale State House walls sent a message that the government was out of touch with the realities of the common people.

"IN TERMS of logical thinking, Brian Kibet was never going to harm the President. But he did deliver a strong moral message that government is out of touch with the hard realities of the majority of Kenyans. In a perfect setting, GoK would be in a terrible frenzy to make it right, " Ogolla tweeted

Kibet was shot in the arm by police officers manning State House in a bid to neutralise the threat he posted.

Media reports say he was armed with a knife. He was taken to hospital for treatment and is expected to be arraigned in a court of law to answer to charges of trespass.

The student's father called on President Uhuru Kenyatta to spare his son as he has a history of suffering from mental issues.
