Maalim claims that some politicians are allegedly leading a diversionary agenda as far as the war on graft is concerned.

According to the former National Assembly deputy speaker, politicians must stop political gimmicks in the war against corruption.

"War on corruption is a red herring. JP give Kenyans a break and stop diversionary gimmicks," the Lagdera MP tweeted on Tuesday.

According to Maalim, the fight against graft must not be politicised.

He argues that some politicians are out to frustrate the graft purge through unwarranted rhetorics.

The debate on graft continues to rage on with a section of politicians allied to Deputy President William Ruto alleging that he is being targeted.

The politicians majority who are from Rift Valley allege that the Directorate of Criminal Investigation (DCI) is out to frustrate and block DP Ruto's 2022 presidential ambition.

The DCI is currently probing multi-Billion dam scandal allegedly invloving some state ministries and officials.

Last week while officiating the Pastoralists 2019 Summit in Garissa, DP Ruto hit out at opposition leader Raila Odinga accusing him of allegedly spearheading falsehoods against the Jubilee government.

The DP claimed that Raila is out to split the ruling Jubilee Party.

A section of Raila's allies has, however, dismissed DP Ruto's claims and want him to leave DCI to conduct an investigation into graft scandals.
