ODM chairman Richard Kaka says 'he expected Governor Okoth Obado's release from jail' though he doesn't support it.
Mr. Kaka, a staunch supporter of Mr. Raila Odinga further says he's satisfied with the court's decision to limit his movements to Migori, adding that the constitution worked in Obado's favour.
"I expected him to be released on bond though i don't support it. But still he's yet to get his full freedom for he has been confined to parts of Migori only. (20 kms radius)," he wrote.
Earlier, party lawyer Tony Moturi said the court's decision to release Obado on bond was constitutional and that it's the prosecution to prove murder allegations labelled against the accused.
In a statement, Mr. Moturi also insisted that the courts have a right to make decisions based on the rule of law.
"Each and every suspect is innocent until proven otherwise. That's the law we have subjected ourselves to and must live with it. Bail equally is a constitutional right of an accused person. Burden of proof is on the prosecution."
Obado, who is linked to the brutal death of his girlfriend Sharon Otieno, was released on Sh5 million bail by Justice Jessie Lessit.
His other co-accused Michael Oyamo and Caspal Obiero, were remanded until the hearing of the case in May 2019.
