Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) Noordin Haji has finally broken silence on the enhancement of his security and that of his staff.
Haji says that his security at NSSF has been beefed up over what he termed as the handling of high-profile graft cases.
Speaking during an induction for newly recruited staff at La Mada hotel in Nairobi on Tuesday, Haji said that security at his county offices including Garissa has also been beefed up.
The DPP said that the nature of crimes his office is prosecuting require total security.
“There are many threats and that is why we have more security at NSSF and counties,” he said.
Haji, however, maintained that he is fearless in the fight against corruption and organized crime.
“We are determined as an office to fight corruption and other crimes and we don’t fear anyone,” he said.
Last week in an interview on a local television, Haji said that he and his family have been receiving threats.
The DPP went on to claim that Al-Shabaab and graft cartels are his threats.
Haji, however, said that he is not afraid and only fears Allah.
The DPP has in the recent months prosecuted top government officials over graft allegations.
