On Friday, one Bongo Flavor star, TID, stopped a club DJ from playing Nigerian music in Club Elements where the singer was holding an exclusive party.

According to 'Nyota Yangu' hit maker, it was a Tanzanian night thus not good for the DJ to play other country's music.

In a video shared on Instagram on Saturday by Bongo Five, the singer is seen commanding the DJ to stick to Tanzania music.

He noted that playing music from other countries while in Nigeria can land the DJ in trouble.

"Do not play Nigerian songs, we will disagree over that. if you does that in Nigeria you will be killed (usipige ngoma zako za ki-Nigeria bwana, tutagombana, it is a Tanzanian night, you know what, you can do that in Nigeria men, you can get killed, uko haram)," said TID.

TID stand comes few months after Kenyan artists elicited mixed reactions in the East Africa region when they started preaching 'play Kenyan music' gospel on different platforms.

According to most of Kenyan artists, many media houses in the country and even clubs were playing mostly Nigerian and Tanzanian music.
