Cliff Ombeta who is the lawyer representing Embakasi East Member of Parliament Babu Owino on Saturday revealed why the legislator was transferred from the Kilimani Police Station to Gigiri Police Station.
According to the lawyer, the investigation into the case where Babu Owino is accused of shooting a DJ at a club was slowing down due to the many visitors at the Kilimani Police Station.
Ombetta revealed that the transfer was necessary as it allowed the police officers to proceed with other formalities in the case.
Babu Owino's fingerprints were taken and recorded at Gigiri Police Station.
"The reason for him being transferred was that the investigations were actually slowing down because of the number of people who were coming to visit him including friends and his constituents. So, therefore, it was better that then perhaps if other things were to be done as this morning, then he had to be taken to Gigiri police station whereby the fingerprints and other formalities have been done," Ombetta stated.
The lawyer added that police officers had conducted a search at Babu Owino's house as part of the investigation.
The officers recovered the remaining ammunition that was at Babu Owino's house.
"Then thereafter today, the officers have gone to his house, they have done a search, they have taken whatever they took which included just the remaining ammunition that was in the house which is legally entitled to be having," Ombetta noted.
DNA sampling was also done on Babu Owino.
